A fake free Claude Max offer steals Google logins

Malwarebytes· 23 Sep

Malwarebytes found a fake giveaway promising 10,000 free one-month Claude Max subscriptions. It copies Claude's logo and colours, shows invented reviews and a countdown of remaining places, and never asks for card details. Instead, the Google button opens a fake browser window drawn inside the page, complete with a padlock and the correct Google address, to capture the login.

  • Teach staff the two-second test: try to drag a sign-in window past the edge of the page. A fake one stops at the edge.
  • Use a password manager. It will not offer your Google password on a site that is not Google.
