Lovable raised $400M to let non-developers build software
Lovable, a tool that turns plain descriptions into working web software, raised $400 million at a $13.3 billion valuation. Its own framing is that it helps people run their businesses. The cost of a small internal tool is heading toward an afternoon. The cost of a small internal tool that is wrong, unmaintained and holding customer data is not.
- Use it for the first version of any internal tool: a form, a calculator, a dashboard.
- Before anyone relies on it, decide: throwaway or system. Systems get an owner, a backup and one page of notes.
