Meta's Muse agent can now place calls to US businesses, rolling out first to users who asked for it. Its rival Instinct added Instinct Concierge, in early access, to book restaurants that do not take online reservations, join a dentist's cancellation list or sort out a cable bill. Rivals had sold calling as an advantage. Now they are level.
- Brief staff that some callers will be AI assistants, and agree what they can confirm, such as bookings, and what needs a human.
- Put booking and cancellation options online, so agents and customers do not have to ring at all.
