Berkeley's CUA-Lite lets you test computer-use agents without a virtual machine
UC Berkeley released CUA-Lite, an open platform for testing computer-use agents. It runs the OSWorld desktop benchmark in a 0.9 GB container instead of a full virtual machine, so it works on ordinary machines. A cheap way to see if an agent can really work your screens before you give it a login.
- Before buying any agent that claims to operate your software, ask for a score on a public benchmark, not a demo video.
- If you have a technical person, have them run Lite.OSWorld once so you know what the current ceiling actually looks like.
