OpenAI Dots vs Meta Muse: what each costs, what it can touch, and where you can actually use it

Engadget· 11 Oct

Engadget compared the two new always-on AI agents. Both run on their own cloud computer, connect to outside services and keep working after you leave. Muse has a free tier with a usage cap, plus Power at $20 a month and Maximum at $100. For individuals, OpenAI's Dots start at the $100 Pro tier, and a Business Premium seat is $100 per user a month billed annually or $125 monthly. Dots are rolling out to eligible Pro users outside the EEA, Switzerland and the UK, while Business Premium users get them across supported ChatGPT regions. Muse is available in the US and Canada.

  • In Ireland, do not plan around either for now: Muse is US and Canada only and personal Dots exclude the EEA. If you want to try one, check first that your region and plan are on the supported list.
  • Before you connect email, calendar or payments to any agent, set what it may do alone and what needs your approval. Engadget found Muse's model-improvement setting on by default, so look at the privacy settings first.
