Elvis Presley's rights holders sue Anthropic, saying Claude reproduces 274 of his songs

THThe Hollywood Reporter· 25 Oct

The Elvis plaintiffs filed suit on Friday saying Anthropic infringed 274 Presley songs, including Can't Help Falling in Love and Don't Be Cruel. They say Claude produces near copies of songs, even after Anthropic added guardrails, quoting a reply in which Claude said its rewrites landed very close to the originals. The Hollywood Reporter says the suit seeks $150,000 per song.
