Google shows how to switch your account to a passkey during Cybersecurity Awareness Month
Google published a short guide to passkeys for Google Accounts. A passkey lets you sign in the same way you unlock your phone or laptop, with a fingerprint, face scan or device PIN, and Google says it resists phishing attacks that steal passwords. Biometric data stays on your device. To set one up, go to g.co/passkeys, choose Create a passkey and follow the prompts.
- Set up a passkey on the Google account that runs your business email, calendar and files, which is the account an attacker would most like to take over.
- Do the same for any other shared or admin login that offers passkeys, and keep a recovery option on file.
