MiniMax releases M3.1 Flash, priced at $0.15 per million input tokens, and says agent tasks cost 70% less than before
MiniMax rolled out M3.1 Flash on 19 October. It says the anonymous model called Space Bunny, which processed more than 200 trillion tokens, was an early version. MiniMax says inference is nearly three times faster and usage costs on agent tasks are 70% lower than its predecessor. Pricing is flat at $0.15 per million input tokens, $0.60 per million output tokens and $0.015 for cached input. It is available through the MiniMax API, the M Plan and MiniMax Code, and model weights will be released later.
- If a developer or agency runs your AI automations, ask for last month's model bill and which model each job uses, so you can compare it against $0.15 and $0.60 per million tokens.
- Ask whether any customer or staff data is sent to a provider based in China, and get the answer in writing before moving a workflow to a cheaper model.
