Vals raises $40m to test AI models on real industry work
Vals, a startup formed in 2024, raised a $40 million series A led by Andreessen Horowitz last month. Instead of general-knowledge tests, it checks whether models can do real tasks in fields such as law, finance and coding, and it keeps its test materials private so companies cannot train on them. Its revenue is eight times last year's.
