A RAND report says AI harms such as wrong outputs, deepfakes, privacy breaches and discriminatory decisions do not fit neatly into existing insurance. Insurer W. R. Berkley has added AI exclusions to some liability products, and Verisk/ISO, whose forms appear in over 80% of US property and casualty policies, offers optional wording to exclude generative AI harms.
