Gemini can now work on tasks while you are away and connects to more than 40 apps, including Shopify

With Gemini 4 Argon, Google added a toggle in the Gemini app that switches from chat to tasks. Google says that in tasks mode Gemini can work for you even when you are not at your computer, across your Google apps and more. Gemini now connects to more than 40 apps, among them Instacart, OpenTable, Adobe and Shopify, for jobs from ordering groceries and booking tables to designing and building a business. The update is for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers and starts today.

• If you run a Shopify store and pay for Google AI Pro, connect it in the Gemini app and try one low-risk task first, such as drafting a product description, before you let it change anything live.
• Check each connected app's permissions before you switch it on, and keep customer details and payment tools out of it until you have tested what it does.
