Google will turn Gemini Gems into skills on 17 November

From 17 November, Google will migrate every Gem in the Gemini app into a skill. Both hold custom instructions, but skills are called with a slash and several can run together. If your team built Gems for quotes, replies or reports, they will move automatically, but test them once they do.

  • List the Gems your team relies on and save their instructions somewhere you control.
  • After 17 November, run each one on a real task to check it still behaves.
