Honeyjar, an AI tool for PR, drew 10,000 waitlist signups in a day and is now in beta

TechCrunch· 12 Oct

TechCrunch reports that Honeyjar, a startup founded by two long-time PR professionals, uses AI to write announcements, find the best journalists to pitch, build media lists, track coverage and spot speaking opportunities. Its waitlist drew 10,000 signups in the first 24 hours, and beta testers include Nextdoor, Coco Robotics, Bloomberg Beta and two PR agencies. It is aimed at founders and at people who do communications without the job title. It is among the startups at TechCrunch Disrupt this week.

  • Before you pay for any PR tool, write down which journalists or local outlets you want to reach and check whether the tool can name them for your trade.
  • Never send an AI-written announcement unchecked. Read every claim, name and figure yourself, because a journalist will.
