OpenAI is adding 200 jobs in Dublin and extending its SME Academy and founder training for Irish firms
OpenAI announced on 12 October that it will create 200 more jobs in Ireland, on top of the 250 announced in July. They sit in a new Applied AI Lab at its Dublin EU headquarters and include forward deployed engineers who work directly with customers to build AI applications. Silicon Republic and RTE report that OpenAI will also widen its SME Academy and run a Founder Cafe with Dogpatch Labs, giving 150 Irish founders advanced training in ChatGPT, Codex and the API.
- If you run an Irish small business, look up OpenAI's SME Academy and see whether a session fits your trade before you pay for any outside AI training.
- If you want a custom AI build, ask what a forward deployed engineer would do for you and what it would cost, and get that in writing before you start.
