Survey of 1,700 managers: AI polishes staff work but makes it harder to judge who did what

TETechCrunch· 21 Oct

A Nielsen survey of 1,700 directors and senior managers in seven countries, commissioned by Monday.com, found more than half say AI makes staff work harder to evaluate, because it arrives polished. Nearly half spend more time reviewing and guiding output. Even so, 94% are excited about AI, and 78% have changed how they judge staff, with 39% using AI to draft performance reviews.

  • Ask your team to say when AI helped with a draft, and agree one check for anything that reaches a customer, such as a second read of figures.
  • If you use AI to help write a staff review, treat it as a first draft, add your own examples, and never send it as written.
