DoorDash launches an AI agent you order food from by text message
DoorDash launched an AI agent that takes food orders by text message in Apple Messages. Customers can say 'order my usual', ask for recommendations with photos, or sort out a group order with mixed dietary needs. It is open by US waitlist for now, and the agent suggests restaurants based on what the customer asks for.
- If you sell on DoorDash, check your menu names, photos and dietary tags are accurate. That is what an agent reads when it chooses for a customer.
- Watch whether repeat orders change after the launch. 'My usual' favours the places a customer already orders from.
