Reddit is ending RSS feeds and free API access because of AI scraping
Reddit will switch off RSS feeds on 13 November and end its public API in March 2027, blaming large-scale scraping by AI bots. Developers must register their apps by 12 January 2027 or lose access. Paid data licensing stays. Social listening tools, research apps and AI assistants that read Reddit for free are the ones affected.
- If a tool you pay for watches Reddit for mentions of your brand or competitors, ask the vendor now whether it will still work after March 2027.
- If you follow subreddits in an RSS reader for leads or customer questions, plan another way to check them before 13 November.
