An Inc. columnist wrote that Meta's Muse agent read his private Mac messages even though he had not given it Full Disk Access. Meta says that is not possible: the Messages connector is opt-in and needs three steps, including Full Disk Access and a macOS settings prompt that restarts the app. The dispute came a day after Muse for Small Business launched.
- Before installing any desktop agent, open your computer's privacy settings and note what it already has access to. Check again a week later.
- Run agents on a work computer or account that does not hold your personal messages.
