A second German court treats Google's AI Overviews as Google's own statements, in a case over false claims about a doctor

The Decoder· 18 Oct

The Decoder reported on 18 October that the Aachen Regional Court, in a preliminary injunction dated 24 September, barred Google from spreading false claims about a doctor through its AI search results. The AI had attributed criminal allegations to him that involved a different person. The court followed a May ruling from the Munich Regional Court I, classing the AI-generated text as Google's own statements rather than links to third-party sites. The Decoder says Google settled the Munich case instead of pursuing its announced appeal.
