Grok Bot now gets its own email address, so an AI agent can sign up for services and contact businesses for you

9to5Mac· 9 Oct

xAI's Grok Bot, an agent that signs in to a user's tools and does tasks for them, now has its own email address. xAI says the bot can use it to sign up for services, contact businesses on a user's behalf and schedule time with someone. It began rolling out on 9 October: users ask the bot to claim an address ending in @mail.grokbot.com. The bot is on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and 9to5Mac says its model got an upgrade earlier this week using Anthropic's Claude.

  • Expect enquiries, booking requests and supplier sign-ups that come from an AI agent's own address. Reply as you would to a person, but check that a real customer stands behind it before you quote or take a deposit.
  • If you try an agent like this yourself, give it its own address rather than your main inbox, and keep anything that spends money or promises a date behind your approval.
