WhatsApp lets you invite people without WhatsApp to a call by sending a link
Meta announced guest calling for WhatsApp. From the Calls tab you create a call link and send it to anyone. Guests open it in a computer browser, type their name and wait for you to let them in. Calls are free, end-to-end encrypted and have no time limit, with up to 32 people. Only people with a WhatsApp account can create a link. Calendar links for Google and Outlook come later this year.
- Next time you need a call with a client who does not use WhatsApp, create a call link and send it instead of switching to another video tool. Test it with a colleague first.
- Check who you let in. Guests wait in a room until you approve them, so only admit names you recognise, and remove anyone you do not expect.
