Nous Research raises $90 million at a $1.5 billion value and launches Hermes agents for business

TechCrunch· 7 Oct

Nous Research, the startup behind the open source Hermes Agent, has raised a $90 million Series B at a $1.5 billion valuation, TechCrunch reports. Robot Ventures led, with Nvidia, Union Square Ventures, Menlo Ventures and Samsung taking part. The money funds Hermes for Businesses, which lets companies run customised AI agents on multi-step jobs while keeping their data private. Nous says Hermes Agent has been cloned more than 24 million times.

  • If you have a technical owner, look at Hermes Agent: it is free and open source under an MIT licence, so you can try it without a contract.
  • Before you put customer data into any agent, whether open source or paid, write down where that data is stored and who can read it.
