A YouGov survey for payments firm ACI Worldwide asked over 3,000 US and UK adults about agents shopping for fashion. 53% would not let an AI assistant buy for them under any circumstances, and only 7% would let it buy without their approval. Accenture found just 9% of over 25,000 consumers open to fully autonomous shopping. People want help choosing, then to pay themselves.
- Make your products easy for an agent to find and compare, and keep checkout simple for the person who pays.
- Do not rebuild your sales process around agent purchases yet. Watch your own orders for signs they are arriving.
