Anthropic repeats its pledge that Claude will never show ads, in the letter that comes with its stock market filing
The Decoder reports that Anthropic's IPO filing cover letter renews its promise to keep ads out of Claude chats, quoting it: people bring their most important work and personal questions to Claude and the company wants its only incentive to be giving a helpful answer. The letter says once advertising is part of revenue targets, pressure to optimise for engagement tends to grow. Anthropic previously criticised ChatGPT for running chat ads. The letter treats the ad ban as an example of putting values above profit.
