Dartmouth's provost resigned after a committee found he did not disclose his AI use in a paper and a newspaper essay
Ars Technica reports that Dartmouth College provost Santiago Schnell resigned this week after an advisory committee found he failed to disclose significant AI use in an academic paper and in a Washington Post essay, even though the publishers required it. The committee saw his Claude logs, where he used the AI to revise papers, fix code and make figures, and said he did not cooperate fully. Schnell says he used AI only as an editing aid.
