Google Meet now offers next steps after a call, such as drafting the follow-up email or adding action items to Google Tasks

GOGoogle Workspace Updates· 12 Oct

Google introduced next steps in Google Meet. After a call, a section called Routines for this meeting lets you turn on tasks with one tap: draft a follow-up email in Gmail, or add action items to Google Tasks. It only works when Take notes for me is on during the meeting, Google's 16 October weekly recap repeated the launch, and the feature is on by default.

  • If you run client calls on Google Meet with a Business Standard or Plus plan, switch on Take notes for me for one call this week and try the follow-up email step on it.
  • Read every drafted follow-up before it goes out. Check names, prices and dates against your own notes, and tell clients if you record or transcribe their calls.
