Vercel Shop is out for Shopify stores, a storefront template that lets AI shopping agents read your products and build carts
Vercel announced that Vercel Shop, its open source Next.js storefront template for Shopify, is generally available. Product pages are served as machine-readable content with price, availability and options, and Shopify's Universal Commerce Protocol lets agents search a catalogue, check availability, build a cart and get a checkout link. Shopify's Hydrogen SDK, rebuilt to work across JavaScript frameworks, is also generally available.
- If you sell on Shopify, check that every product has a clear title, price, stock status and size or colour options filled in. Agents read that data directly, and gaps cost you sales from them.
- If you have a developer, forward them the post and ask whether a custom storefront is worth it for you. Most small shops will not need one this year.
