Cohere's North 2 puts AI agents behind access controls and token spend limits

The Register· 5 Oct

Cohere has released North 2, a rebuilt version of its business agent platform. It adds shared skills (written procedures an agent follows), automations built in a drag-and-drop editor, shared libraries of data, and memory across sessions. Admins can set access lists on libraries and skills and see which departments use the most tokens. It can run in the cloud, on premises or air-gapped, with the models you choose.

  • When you compare agent tools, ask who can see what: whether an intern's request could pull up files that only the owner should read.
  • Ask any AI vendor how you can see and cap spending, since agents can burn tokens quietly.
