1Password launches a way for AI agents to sign in for you without ever seeing your password
1Password announced 1Password for Agents on 22 October. When an AI agent reaches a sign-in form, it proves its identity to 1Password with a digital key. You see which login it needs and why, and approve on your own device. 1Password then fills in the password, so the agent never sees or stores it. Partners named include Meta's Muse, Claude, OpenAI's ChatGPT Work and dots, Grok Bot and Town.
- Never paste a password into a chat with an AI agent. Ask the agent's maker whether it works with 1Password and approve each sign-in yourself.
- Keep agents away from your bank and payment logins until you trust them, and turn on two-step verification for your email and bank accounts first.
