Gemini can now use your Google Maps searches and saved places with your Calendar to plan your day, if you switch it on

Google is widening the Google Maps link in the Gemini app's Personal Intelligence, which uses your emails, documents, photos and videos to tailor answers. It can now draw on your Maps searches and saved places and combine them with Google Calendar. Google's example asks which saved restaurant is nearest your last meeting. Personal Intelligence has to be enabled in Gemini's personalization settings.

• Before you switch it on, open Gemini's personalization settings and read which of your apps it connects. Leave off any you would not want it to read.
• Check your saved places and Calendar for private entries, such as a doctor's address or a client's name, because Gemini can now draw on both together.
