Barclays rolls Claude out across the bank, sorting 120,000 emails a day
Barclays is extending Anthropic's Claude across the bank and expects half of its developers to use Claude Code by the end of 2026. A staff assistant built on Claude, live since 2025, has handled over a million searches from more than 16,000 colleagues. In its Global Markets business, Claude sorts and routes about 120,000 incoming client emails a day before people act on them.
- Pick one inbox in your business, such as orders or support, and write down the categories every email falls into. That list is the brief for an email-sorting assistant.
- Put your staff handbook, price lists and policies in one place, so an internal assistant has something reliable to answer from.
