New York signs a law making AI chatbots check ages and stop pretending to be a child's friend or partner

Google puts ads in AI Mode in 10 more countries, and says it will add the UK, Brazil and Mexico this quarter
Google· 28 OctGoogle announced it is scaling ads in AI Mode in Australia, Canada, India, Kenya, Malaysia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines and Singapore. In Q4 2026 it plans to add Brazil, Mexico and the United Kingdom. It is also launching multiturn ads in the US, so ads can appear in follow-up questions. Google says the ads are clearly labelled Sponsored and that click-through rates are already similar to organic product listings in AI Mode.
