Google announces Gemini 4 Carbon, its strongest model, and gives it to cyber defenders first before the public
Google DeepMind announced Gemini 4 Carbon, which it calls its strongest model, with state-of-the-art cybersecurity and long-running task skills. It ranks first on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index v5.0 at 59, and scores 88.2 percent on SEC-bench Pro for finding vulnerabilities. This week it goes to a subset of cyber defenders, then trusted partners. Google says it will reach developers, businesses and consumers as soon as possible.
- You cannot use Carbon yet, so there is nothing to switch on. Keep your phone, browser and apps updated, because defenders using models like this are finding and fixing flaws faster.
- If you buy security software or use an IT provider, ask whether they will get access through Google's Fairwind Program.
