OpenAI lets Pro users text their Dot agent by iMessage or RCS, with photos and voice notes
Engadget reports OpenAI has begun rolling out a preview that lets US Pro users text their Dot agent. You can send texts, photos and voice memos, and the Dot can text you proactively with updates on tasks you gave it. It works through iMessage on iPhone and RCS on Android. To set it up, open the Dot's profile in ChatGPT and choose Texting. OpenAI says it partnered with Linq for the messaging.
- If you are a US Pro user, open your Dot in ChatGPT, choose Texting, and start with one harmless task before handing it anything private.
- Remember that anything the Dot writes to its memory is shared between ChatGPT and text, so do not text it passwords or card numbers.
