HMD launches a flip phone for older people with an AI companion called Mary, free for 5 hours and 19.90 euro a month after

HMD's 2660 Flip Senior Edition is a flip phone with big buttons, a large screen and a dedicated button for Mary, an AI companion made by inTouch. Mary chats, shares stories, answers questions and plays games, and remembers earlier conversations. HMD says the phone includes a free 5-hour trial of Mary. After that the inTouch service costs 19.90 euro a month, can be cancelled any time, and operator charges may apply.

• Before you buy, read HMD's FAQ on whether conversations are private and secure, and ask what inTouch keeps of what your relative says.
• Decide who pays and who can cancel the 19.90 euro monthly service after the trial, and set a reminder before the 5 hours run out.
